My Soccer Career so far

Ever since I moved to the Netherlands at 6 years old, I have played football at club level and my position has always been at striker this has allowed me to refine my skills such as my finishing for the last 11 years. I bring a strong physical presence to the field when I play and therefore, I don’t shy away from physical challenges when I play soccer. My physical strength also helps me be comfortable receiving the ball with my back to goal. I like receiving the ball with my back to goal as one of my strengths is making a quick turn around the opponent using my body to shield the ball and getting a quick shot off. However, creating chances using the depths of the pitch making use of my speed is something I am effective in too. Recently I have also been giving a lot of attention to my first touch as I know that combining a good first touch a long with my strength is very effective in hold up play which allows me to help the team out of difficult situations. Additionally, I excel at applying pressure as I feel I am the first defender on the team if I play at striker. When im am on the wing I like to play in combinations and receive through balls as combining my strength and speed makes it difficult for defenders to hold me up allowing me to effectively create chances for the team.

Currently I play in the U-19 of Victoria the which is a year up of my age group as I am currently still 17, in previous years I have also been in the first team. Last year we were crowned champions twice once in the 6* division and after that in the 5* division. I have also been selected to captain my school soccer team, The International school of Hilversum, where I have successfully led us to win multiple friendlies and the schools world cup a 7 a-side tournament played in Marbella, Spain.

Why College Soccer?

Whenever I had thought about my future, I could never imagine not playing soccer, however I came to realize that while studding it would be a tough task to continue to play at a high level while maintaining a suitable level of academics. College soccer provides a solution to this as it creates the opportunity for me to pursue my passion of soccer while I obtain a higher level of education. Furthermore, I love to explore culture since I've lived basically all my life in the Netherlands, I often wonder about how it is to study in other areas of the world therefore playing college soccer in America would be the perfect opportunity for me to experience this while I continue with a high level of football.

My aim with the team is obviously to become a champion however what's important to me along the way is the development of not only myself but also the team. I strive to improve my skill in not only soccer but also academically. I look forward to building new relationships with teammates and people at college and create lifetime memories while playing college soccer. Finally, academics are at the core of my motivations and want to set myself up for a successful future
