My Soccer Background

I consider myself a smart center back who understands the game well, which allows me to lead from the back and support my teammates through effective communication. I also have a strong long ball, resulting in many assists. My strengths include defending, timing, passing, composure on the ball, using my weaker foot, and heading. Overall, I believe I am best suited for the center back role, although I can also play as a right back.

I started playing soccer at the age of 4 at Roda '46 in Leusden, located in central Netherlands. I have consistently been part of the first team for my age group and frequently joined teams with older players. At 10, when we transitioned to playing on a full-sized field, I began playing as a right back. My team often faced professional clubs, including Go Ahead Eagles, PSV, and PEC Zwolle.

At 12, we participated in a tournament hosted by Excelsior in Rotterdam, competing against teams like Juventus and Inter Milan, and we even secured a victory against Nottingham Forest, which I consider the biggest achievement of my career. In the U15 division, we won the 5th division championship and earned promotion to the 4th division, where we played against teams such as Roda JC and FC Dordrecht. That season, we also defeated Go Ahead Eagles 3-2.

Why College Soccer?

I am eager to play college soccer in the United States because it offers the ideal combination of athletics and academics. It provides a unique opportunity to enhance my soccer skills at a high level while earning a degree. The competitive environment will push me to improve, and playing alongside teammates from different backgrounds will broaden my perspective both on and off the field. Additionally, the high-quality coaching and facilities will be valuable for my development. College soccer will also allow me to represent my school, form lasting friendships, and set the stage for future opportunities in both sports and my career.
