Born and raised in Wargrave, United Kingdom, India Hayes has always been known for her attacking instincts and playmaking abilities. She developed her skills at Reading Hockey Club, where she played for over a decade, consistently competing at the highest level. During her U16 season, she helped her team win the National Plate Competition, a testament to her ability to perform under pressure.

In addition to her club success, India represented Berkshire County from ages 13 to 16, where she played a crucial role in key matches against top counties across England. With her skill, speed, and tactical awareness, she stood out as a player ready for the next level.

In 2024, she made the leap to Saint Louis University to compete in NCAA Division I field hockey, while pursuing a degree in International Business.
