Strengths
I feel my biggest strengths as a hockey player are my vision on the field and my ability to read the play. I pride myself on anticipating situations before they unfold, which allows me to make quick, effective decisions under pressure. My movement off the ball is deliberate and strategic.
I also have strong movement around the field, ensuring I’m always in the right place to support both offense and defense and capitalise on opportunities.
Communication is another key element in my game. I’m vocal in a positive way, helping direct play and ensuring we are all on the same page.
Why do I want to play college field hockey?
Playing college field hockey in the USA is an incredible opportunity that aligns with both my personal and athletic goals. I am looking for personal growth both on and off the field and competing in college hockey will challenge me to further develop my game and refine the skills necessary to achieve my goal of playing at the highest level of this sport- competing at the Olympics (Brisbane 32).
What excites me the most is the unique culture of college sport in the USA, where a high-performance environment is paired with unmatched team camaraderie and school spirit. My mother played Div 1 tennis in the college system and speaks highly of her experience, which has inspired me to pursue a similar path.
Equally important, I want to combine my passion for sport with my academic goals. The USA offers an exceptional standard of education, and I see this opportunity as a chance to pursue my studies while continuing to develop my game at an elite level.
I’m confident that the experience of playing college field hockey will help me grow both as an individual and an athlete. It will not only develop my character and get out of my comfort zone, but also push me to my limits, sharpen my skills, and prepare me to achieve my dream of representing my country on the world stage.
